Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

In short. Lakoom has no accounts, no sign-in, and we never collect your email address. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no tracking. Your alarms, streaks and preferences stay on your device. Only three things leave it: photo verification for the camera missions, speech recognition for the Modeh Ani mission, and subscription management. Each is described below.

Who we are

Lakoom ("the app") is an independent app operated from Israel. We are the party responsible for the data described here. For any privacy question or request: [email protected].

What stays on your device

Almost everything you create in the app is stored only on your device and is never sent to us: the alarms you set and their times, the mission and sound chosen for each alarm, your day streak and earned badges, remaining freeze days, app language and preferences. All of it is deleted when you delete the app.

No analytics, no tracking

Lakoom ships no analytics or advertising SDKs, does not measure user behavior, and does not track you across apps or websites. The app never shows Apple's tracking permission prompt, simply because we have no use for that permission.

What does leave your device

Photo missions: sky, bed and grass

When you complete a photo mission, the app downscales the image and sends it to a secure proxy server we operate, which forwards it to OpenAI's API. The service returns one thing only: whether the photo contains what the mission asked for. The photo is not retained by us, neither on the proxy nor anywhere else, and no copy is kept on your device. Under OpenAI's policy, content sent through the API is not used to train their models, and may be retained by them for a limited period for abuse monitoring only. If the service is unavailable the mission passes automatically, so a ringing alarm can never trap you. See the OpenAI privacy policy.

The Modeh Ani mission

The speech mission uses iOS's built-in speech recognition. To recognize spoken Hebrew accurately, the short recording may be processed on Apple's servers, depending on how iOS handles speech recognition. We never receive the recording and never store it. The app receives only the recognized text, compares it against the expected phrase, and discards it immediately. See the Apple privacy policy.

Subscriptions and purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store, and subscription status is managed for us by RevenueCat. That service receives a random, anonymous identifier generated on your device, your subscription status and the associated entitlements. It does not receive your name or email address. Your payment details are handled solely by Apple and are never exposed to us.

Sensors that stay local

The shake mission reads motion sensors, and the push-up mission analyses the camera feed to count repetitions. Both run entirely on your device: no video is recorded, no images are saved, and nothing from them is sent to us or to any third party. The camera preview in the push-up mission is live only and is never recorded.

Permissions the app requests

  • Alarms and notifications. So the alarm rings even on Silent and in Focus. Without it the app cannot do its job.
  • Camera. Only for the photo missions and the push-up mission.
  • Microphone and speech recognition. Only for the Modeh Ani mission.
  • Motion. Only for the shake mission.

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings. Revoking one disables the missions that depend on it; you can pick a different mission instead.

Children

Lakoom is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because we operate no accounts and hold no information that identifies you personally, there is no store of your data for us to retrieve. Deleting the app deletes all local data. To manage or cancel a subscription, use your App Store subscription settings. For any question about your data, including requests under Israel's Privacy Protection Law or the GDPR, email us.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. A material change will also be surfaced inside the app.
